Dumaguete: A Visual Diary

30 November 2017

It's been a long time (5 months ago to be exact)  since I last sat down in front of my laptop to create another blog post. I had a great opportunity to write this down despite of the numerous schoolworks I am currently juggling.

Just recently, we flew to Dumaguete, Negros Oriental to attend the Ika-42 Pambansang Kumperensiya sa Sikolohiyang Pilipino. It was a two day conference and a day for the plenary session wherein different researches were presented.

We gathered at our university at 1:30 AM to catch the bus that will send us to the airport. Our flight was 5:00 in the morning and we arrived in Dumaguete at 6:23 AM. We just had breakfast and headed to the hotel but did not check in yet because we are about to attend the conference right away. Indeed, we did not have a little time to rest.

There's an ocean in front of the building where our second day of conference was held. We also decided to take some pictures, just gladly enjoying the view and the nice weather as well.
Basically, what happened in the first three days was conference, talk, presentations, and the like. Although on the third day, we were allowed to go back to the hotel early since it was only a half day learning session. (yehey because we got to sleep!)

After those three ~hectic~ days, we left early in the morning(4th day) for our field immersion. We interacted with an indigenous group, the Ati. They prepared performance for us such as the dances they execute during rituals and self-composed song about the history of their tribe.
